Being a successful real estate agent in today’s world has little to do with “salesmanship” and everything to do with effectively utilizing experience, tools and information to find the best solution to the client’s needs and wishes. My background has provided me with a unique skill set of knowledge and resources – as well as some pretty good puzzle-solving abilities - that benefit my clients in each of their real estate transactions.

I love meeting and working with people and I enjoy teaming up with my clients to help them achieve their goals - whether its finding that perfect property to purchase or selling at the highest price the market will support. I specialize in second home and investment properties, as well as luxury residences, with extensive knowledge of oceanfront, waterway and golf course homes and condominiums.


My experience in the Grand Strand real estate market extends back to the 70’s, when I helped my father develop a condominium complex in North Myrtle Beach while still a teenager living in nearby Hartsville, SC. I received my college education from Clemson University, graduating in 1981 with a degree in ceramic engineering. I landed my first job out of college with a Myrtle Beach electronics manufacturer and I have called the Grand Strand home ever since.

In 1985 a personal real estate purchase piqued my interest in the industry and I acquired my real estate sales license. After helping a few clients find homes, I realized I’d found my true calling and left engineering behind for a career in real estate. Although engineering is not a typical background for a real estate agent, I’ve found that the math skills and problem-solving aspects have served me and my client’s interests well.

I started my own company, Advantage Real Estate, in 1990. I owned and operated the company for 18 years, all the while remaining a top-ranking sales agent. For 8 of those years the company managed annual and vacation rentals in addition to selling real estate. The breadth of experience gained from all this enables me to provide my clients with insights into our local real estate market that few agents can match.

After finally realizing that I preferred helping individual buyers and sellers to running the day-to-day operations of a company, I moved back into full-time sales. After several successful stints at local real estate firms, I joined RE/MAX Southern Shores in 2015. Nationally, RE/MAX is number one in market share of real estate sales in the US and Canada. Locally they are just as dominant. RE/MAX Southern Shores has been number one in sales volume among all Grand Strand real estate firms every year since 2012. My company covers all the beach areas with offices in North Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach and Garden City.

My wife Monica (who is also in real estate sales) and I live in Myrtle Beach with our two young sons, Noah and Jonah. I enjoy athletics, especially running, tennis and golf. Family time is spent on the beach and outdoors, attending as many of the Grand Strand’s many events and festivals (live music is a favorite!) as time allows.
